Eight goal thriller at Anfield

first of all, I am sorry for being absent for so long. Had some serious issues going on with me locally and was busy in resolving them, but now am back and will be writing the blog again.

Yesterday night saw us nearly beating mug smashers in an eight goal thriller. This time it was us who did the bad defending again after a poor defensive performance against Chelsea in the FA Cup. My point was once again proved that Song is the best pairing for Cesc in the central mid field. He was amazing defensively as well as he was able to send in a through ball forward which resulted in Bendtner being offside twice, may be because of his laziness or whatever.

Before the game, when I saw the line up for the match I realised that this was the team we should have played against Chelsea as well, but at that time may be Wenger was too defensive in his approach after seeing the pitch of Wembley, which was terrible to say the least, and helped Chelsea in winning the game.

Now for Arshavin, I remember Le Boss commenting at the mid of the January transfer window that if he signs a player the player would be a real class act, and Arshavin is already proving himself to be one of the best attacking mid fielders in the Premier League, if not THE BEST, along with Cesc and Ronaldo.

The first goal from Arshavin was a simple tap in after a brilliant work done by Cesc and Nasri. Cesc stole the ball from Maschearano and Nasri then passed it in the path of Cesc who passed it back to Arshavin who tapped it in with his wrong foot quite easily.

The second goal was a great one, probably the best goal of Arshavin's short carreer here at Arsenal or may be we should rate it after the one he scored above the head of Robinson.

Third goal was again a mess by Liverpool defense, and Arshavin again showed his mental strength to slot the ball past Pepe Reina easily.

Fourth goal again showed Arshavin's mental strength and his finishing capabilities. A perfect counter attack for Arsenal led to a through ball to Arshavin who slaughtered the ball into the net past Reina again.

Overall, if we rate the teams then defensively the game was below standard for both the teams. For Arsenal because of Silvestre and for Liverpool because of their full backs. and in the mid field it was not a very good game as well, as both teams' players missed many straight passes and the flow of the game was never there.

It was a great game overall because as Arsene has said a number of times, Football is an attacking game and the one who attacks most entertains the people most. It was an attacking game and the people would have like it.

One can see the alarm bells ringing though after seeing this performance from Arsenal as we are short of defensive cover seriously, because in the absence of Gallas and Djourou we are not playing very well defensively. The only thing that appreciates us is the fact that we are back on scoring ways and now we have our full attacking options available to us.

Hope to see Arsenal perform better against the big four in the upcoming big four matches. Good bye for now.

Arshavin's Grace and Brown's Disgrace

We survived another scare on the hands of Hull last night, but I can tell you that this was not the team Arsenal should have lost, SPECIALLY, after the performances put in by the Gunners last night. particularly by Arshavin and RVP.

Arshavin was the pick of the bunch last night with one of the best performances he has put in for Arsenal so far. He produced nearly 4 chances and he did not miss those chances like Nick earlier, when he miss fired on nearly 10 occassions and was unable to fire a shot on target. Arshavin hit nearly all of his shots on target and provided the assist when nobody (including RVP), was expecting him to give the ball to someone else rather than shoot.

At the last moment a ball that was deflected from goal keeper Myhill edged to Gallas who could be given offside if the ball had come straight of Djourou, but an excellent decission by the linesman that resulted in a controversy (courtesy of the English Press).

After the match, Brown came up with this shit. He said that Fabregas spit on his assistant's feet after the match inside the tunnel. Brown was saying nothing but only blaming other people, like he said that Mike Riley is a disgrace (which I also agree) and that the linesmen gave a wrong decission for Gallas' goal. Meanwhile, Mr. Horton himself has contacted the FA for the spitting incident involving Cesc Fabregas.

In other news, another guy has been linked with a move to Arsenal, this time a more probable. A 16 year old guy from Espanyol B side named Pablo Saranova, the guy is compared with Cesc, may be because of his age and the spanish nationality more than anything else. Young Guns can give a more authentic news on this in may be a week or two weeks' time.

That's it for now. Hope to see you people soon enough.

Eduardo and Vela proved wenger's point earlier this season

Last night Arsenal played like they used to play when they had Henry and Bergkamp up front. They played like they played last season, when we had Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky, Van Persie and Adebayor in full flow. We played like we used to play when we were THE INVINCIBLES. Last night Arsenal were glorious and they created something out of nothing in a way that nobody could have answered their attacks when they were in full flow.

Eduardo and Vela proved Wenger's point earlier this season, when Mr. Wenger said that the players coming back from injury might look like new signings and Eduardo is already looking like to be one. With theo on the brink of coming back into the starting eleven, it looks like that we are going to unleash another signing against Roma in the mid week.

As for the match, at 25' Vela did a little Henry to beat the two defenders and then did a little Bergkamp to beat the approaching goal keeper. If the first move to beat the two defenders was brilliant, then the second move to beat the keeper was outrageous. You could have seen the confidence flowing through his veins as he beat the defenders and then beat the keeper.

At 51' song received the ball on the right side of the central mid field and chipped the ball over the defense like Cesc did in Euro 2008 semi final for Dani Guiza, but this chip was a bit more precise one as Guiza had to take a touch or two to set that ball for the shot, but this ball only needed to be hit inside the net, and Eduardo did the rest with ease. It looked like as if he had millions of years to place the ball where he wanted to.

The third goal by Arsenal was another sublime passing move. A great through ball down the middle by Gallas was enough for Song to back heal into the path of Emanuel Eboue who finished it easily. Eboue, who has had his critics this season, was finally able to finish a move perfectly, but to be fair a great move like that one deserved to be finished like the way it did.

After the game Wenger said that he is looking forward to our next game against Roma in the mid week because that is the most important game for us at the moment. Going into the Roma match we have Walcott and Eduardo available while Adebayor is still out injured and about Toure will be decided later tonight after the medical.

Hope to see both Eduardo and Walcott in the starting line up against Roma.

Arsenal Vs Burnley could be the season defining match for Arsenal!!!

Arsenal have been playing some beautiful football for last 10 seasons or so, but this season was the one in which Arsenal were not quite able to play their regular football. We have been miss firing on many occassions and this could be the match where we are going to prove to the critics that we are not going to miss fire again in the season.

I said that it could be the SEASON DEFINING match because of many reasons. One that it is the same type of opposition against which we have been miss firing. Two that we have not been able to score in many games consecutively. If you see our previuos performances, we have only been able to score goals in a game and then in the next game we come back with a nil - nil scoreline. I hope that we do not repeat that performance here again.

On the build up to the match we have been welcomed by some good news like Cesc can be back in four weeks time and that theo could be involved in the match today and that Eduardo might also feature in today's match.

As for theo Mr. Wenger said that fans should be patient and should not hurry much as he thinks that expecting too much out of him after a long injury is not fair.
"It is very important to see how he will respond with his shoulder and I think he looks to be nearly there,"
He continues and mentions about his fitnees here:
"To have him back is great and he can be very good for us. However the difference between training and competition is different. Theo is very fit, but after that you have to get used to tackles and go into the challenges. You have to use your arms and shoulders to resist."
These good news were a little bit hampered, thanks to that man again. He has been making nuisence for us for a long time now. He says that Cesc is a man who was born in Barcelona and would be a great player for Barca in the future. I think Laporta is having a short term memory loss problem as he don't seem to remember that Cesc was the one who said a week or two ago that he won't be leaving Arsenal if Wenger is not leaving.

Meanwhile Gael Clichy has been reinstating the fact that he would be with us for the rest of his life and Bendtner is willing to prove many wrong by simply putting in the best performance of his carreer against Burnley and make ammends of the miss firing he did against Burnley earlier this season.
"What happened in the League Cup against Burnley was bad. I was very disappointed with myself after that game, I had three clear chances - from which I should have scored two, if not three. When your finishing is not as good as it should be, it annoys you - especially when we have six or seven one-on-ones and don't score any of them. But it will be a new game, and if we get the same chances I am sure we will put them in this time."
That is good to be disappointed on your mistakes, but only if you learn from those mistakes and we want quick learners like what was his name the guy played in our central mid-field last season? I can't remember his name, anyhow, Bendtner needs to prove his mettle in the upcoming match(es), if he wants to stay in the starting eleven because we can see both Eduardo and Adebayor coming back in less than two weeks' time, so better be fast.

That's it for now. Hope to see you people soon enough.

Will Arsenal be able to score against Premier League's Worst Defense

In Arsenal's last four matches, we have managed to keep the clean sheet but we were unable to break other teams' clean sheet as well. We were great defensively, especially William Gallas and Kolo Toure have worked brilliantly together, but unfortunately for West Bromwich match William Gallas will be unavailable due to ankle injury.

Now consider Arsenal's last fifteen games in which Arsenal has been un beaten. Here is the sequence of all those fifteen games:

MiddlesbroughA1 - 1
LiverpoolH1 - 1
Aston VillaA2 - 2
PortsmouthH1 - 0
PlymouthH3 - 1
BoltonH1 - 0
Hull CityA3 - 1
CardiffA0 - 0
EvertonA1 - 1
West HamH0 - 0
TottenhamA1 - 0
CardiffH4 - 0
SunderlandH0 - 0
AS RomaH1 - 0
FulhamH0 - 0

If you look at these matches closely, you would come out with the fact that Arsenal have scored more than one goal against the weaker oppositions and West Bromwich Albion is the weakest opposition this season in the premier league defensively, and with Jay Simpson not available to West Bromwich Albion because of loan rule, it would be even tougher for them to score goal against a team who has managed to have clean sheets in it's last six consecutive matches.

The positive point for Arsenal is that they can score goals. In recent matches, we have seen that whenever someone has shared the responsibility of scoring goals with 'The Great' RVP, we have managed to score more than one goals. West Bromwich Albion has a little patchy defense and we need someone to break that defense from central mid-field.

In other news Le Boss says that he still has faith in the team, and so do we. I still believe that we can score and win most of the remaining eleven games. All Arsenal want is the Winning streak like Manchester United that they managed to do in the mid-season, which took them from fourth place to the first place.  OR The winning streak like Real Madrid that has taken the difference between their position and the position of Barcelona from 13 points to only 4 points now.

I think someone needs to share the responsibility of RVP, someone, may be Arshavin or may be Nasri who missed a clear cut chance in the match against Roma. Anyone ...

Come on, we need an angel who can come and score goals at ease like RVP has been doing this season, like Adebayor was doing last season. Anybody. Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...

I would be supplying with some other great links tommorrow night to see the match on live streams once again.

Hope my next post will be a good one. Hope we score more than 3 goals agains WBA. Hope that someone else alongside RVP can score for Arsenal. Hope we manage to maintain a clean sheet in the absence of Gallas. Hope ....
